We met someone new on Thursday night. primal_pastry and wiley_b brought her over to our house for dinner, and the whole family really hit it off with her. So she came over again on Friday and even spent the night. Both Ellen and I are falling rapidly in love with her, omegabeth and jacflash have officially approved and even the kids are getting along with her magnificently.

Her name is Sappho, and it looks like she's going to be with us for a long time.

	Okay, so it was a cheesy gimmick. Permit me a little editorial license for sappiness. But if I ever give my dog her own LiveJournal account or e-mail address, I hope that one of you will have the mercy to shoot me.

primal_pastry and wiley_b can't keep her at their new place. So it seems kind of like a win-win situation to us -- we get to adopt a dog, which we've been talking about for a long time, and she doesn't vanish completely from their life (which would have been a near-certainty if she'd gone to a rescue shelter).
