No Longer Searching for Bobby Fischer

So Bobby Fischer, chess legend, was arrested in Japan for trying to fly on an invalid passport, and is apparently being extradited to the U.S. I knew that Fischer had become, er, an "eccentric recluse" and remembered vaguely that he'd grown anti-Semitic, but I didn't realize quite how many screws he'd dropped.

Reading about his arrest on Google News, I turned up an article about him from the Atlantic Monthly a couple of years ago, Bobby Fischer's Pathetic Endgame. Fascinating stuff -- very worth taking the time to read it.
