Oh, I'm actually okay. It happened while he was at school, so most of the drama happened before I picked him up and took him for X-rays. By that time he was just a subdued sniffly little boy (and you know something's wrong when people use words like "subdued" to describe this one).
Welcome to the club! Justin did the same thing to his left arm a few years ago. The emergency room visit sucked, as usual, but fortunately, that was the worst of it. They do heal. :)
That's actually just the splint! He'll get a cast on later this week and they said it'll probably be cut much shorter than that. Not nearly as dramatic, alas.
Oh no! (Gotta admit I'm not hugely shocked though! ;) But damn that does suck for him. I'm sure I'm in for the same thing at some point in my/my child's future.)
Oh, no! Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Eleanor (http://opadit.livejournal.com/608248.html)'s wasn't a buckle fracture, but I hope it heals quickly.
Also, casts these days are water-resistant and colorful. Eleanor chose (http://opadit.livejournal.com/610597.html) pink.
yes, spring for the water-resistant if they don't automatically offer it up!! the bone should heal fine, and that way the skin shouldn't get *too green* :)

Hey, what's your phone number again? ;)
I am glad that he is alright for the most part. I can't get over how big all the kids are getting though!

And so quickly, too!
But yuck anyway.

Poor guy will be in a cast for probably a month, they said. Here's to quick healing!

OUCH....
My eldest learned that one the hard way.
You only hope they learn.
Hang in there.
