First, I love the photos, especially the use of focus and fuzz. The limited color palette is also good.
But second, I'm afraid that a prudish work environment would consider the first photo NSFW; is there any way you could swap it under the cut for one of the others?
Third, I'm not sure I can tell you why, but I like the last photo with the egg best. It's probably related to the "sharp focus, fuzzy background, limited color palette" thing.
Yipes! I didn't even notice the nipplage on the first one. Sorry about that.
I was really pleased with the last one too - I like having the focus on something other than the subject's face, and we were having a lot of fun with those eggs.
Nice photography, sir. I like the last in the series best. Lovely lighting, warm and inviting. Good focal point and depth. And, of course, your subject matter is gorgeous.....
One thing this exercise made abundantly clear to me is that I seriously need to catch up on Strobist. I have no lights whatsoever. Fortunately, Rowan had a couple of 50W task lights from her home improvement work that we were able to press into service, but I really don't know what I'm doing with them. Some of these shots (like these) turned out really well, but some of them ended up with dramatic crisscrossing shadows that played hell with the composition.
Those are beautiful pictures! And your subject is lovely, with a gorgeous smile, but what I like best of all is how COMFORTABLE she looks in her own skin - that you were able to encourage and capture that.
Mz. R deserves all the credit for comfort with the process. One of the objectives of this exercise was for me to get more comfortable with photographing someone else. I was shaking like a leaf for a while, frankly.

Wow, that's good performance for ISO 1600! Have you considered becoming a strobist?
