unchi.org (not) hijacked!

As of this morning, unchi.org appears to be registered to some domain squatter in Canada.  I was pretty sure I had reregistered it for 10 years, so I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm investigating.  If mail to unchi.org is bouncing, this is why.

Edit: Resolved.   Billing dispute.  Very embarrassing.

It ought to be legal to squat in the face of domain squatters.

There's a few companies specializing in catching dropped names. If you're even marginally interested, check out "The Domain Game."

They did not change the registration - the expiration date is still in 2016. If I had to guess, I'd say they figured out how to access the account, set domain privacy, then changed the contact info... Have you been in contact with Tucows compliance team yet?

Thanks for catching the registration and expiration dates -- that speaks much more strongly to an actual domain theft. I've written to compliance@opensrs.org.

Geeze, Louise!

Glad it's nothing dramatic. But, hey, the adrenaline surge saved you on the extra cup of coffee.
