Odometer: 182 miles.  45 miles this week.

Approximately, at least.  This morning the thing just stopped working.  Major grumpage.  With luck it'll just be the battery and I won't have to send it back.  Anyway, I don't know the exact numbers, but I've been parking in an area of Arlington that's about 4.5 miles from the office, so my mileage this week should be pretty close to 45 miles.

I did see last night, before the bikeputer failed, that my average speed for the week is just under 14 mph, which is probably about right even if I somehow had convinced myself that my cruising speed is 15mph.  I may have a little more work to do than I thought.

My replacement headlight battery finally shipped!  Woohoo!  Maybe next week I can start the Long Ride again!

I find that my computer going out usually has to do with the sensor being mis-aligned.

Reseating the battery seems to have brought it back online, but it's still disturbing that I never went near the battery in the first place. Plus, if the battery is that easily unseated I'll just have to keep re-initializing the tire size, mileage, etc. Blah! If it happens again I'll just send it back for a replacement.

"Long Ride"?

(I'm still commuting, too, to Malden-- till the snow falls and the roads get icy and salty and nasty. Long fall this year.)

For my commute to Kendall Square I chiefly have two options: drive to Arlington, park on the street, and bike 4-5 miles, or drive to Bedford Depot Park and bike 13 miles in (the "Long Ride"). (Biking all the way from my front door isn't an option until I bring up my average speed by 25% or more :-)
