power out

It's the Great Ice Storm of 2008 and our power is out at home.  unchi.org mail is not working, of course.  (Why have I not gotten around to arranging for real hosting?  Good question.  Ask me another day.)  You can reach me via cell phone (or until the end of the workday, IM or work email).

donnad took some marvelous pictures of the aftermath of the storm.  Our yard and driveway look a lot like that.  I had to clear off the debris from the driveway before I left for work.  A tree took out our mailbox too.

So it's not like we were totally snowbound. There was just a lot of schmutz on the driveway we had to clear off before we could really safely drive out:

We did lose power. I couldn't see any power lines that had actually come down, but in several places the trees were leaning or kinda sagging into the cable. That's not good, right?
