"What's Knight Rider?"

"It's a really cheesy TV show from the 1980s about a talking car."

"That says that it's starting in September."

"Apparently it's a really cheesy TV show from the 1980s about a talking car that they're reviving in September."

"It's a show about a talking car, Quinn.  Sounds like something you'll like."

"You should know that in 1982 the idea of a talking car was really cool."

"Yeah.  Now it's just normal."

Oh, I was such a Knight Rider fan back then.

I remember once going to an auto show and they had the "KITT" car there. I noticed something very interesting. On the TV show when they showed the car shifting or braking by itself it was an automatic transmission. The car at the auto show had a clutch.

Hee :) I almost names my car "Kit" but settled on "Smart Girl" instead. (the nickname for the heinlein car)

Not that her name gets used much. :)

Whatever one thinks of the book, it is hard to beat a car that can fly, teleport, and take you to Oz.

"remember when cameras didn't have displays on the back and you had to WAIT for the pictures to come back from the 'printer'?"

I agree. I had little patience for the book (or, really, for any of Heinlein's ongoing immortal incest fantasy universe) but that car was wicked awesome.

I can only stretch my credibility so far with these kids about what life was like in the old days.

Ummm. This is the first I've heard of Knight Rider, but
isn't this just a ripoff of the first great talking-car
series, "My Mother the Car"?
