Welcome to the club! Justin did the same thing to his left arm a few years ago. The emergency room visit sucked, as usual, but fortunately, that was the worst of it. They do heal. :)

Yikes! My niece just broke something in her arm that caused her to have a cast that covers her elbow too!

Owie! Poor kid!

(And I know full well I've probably got at least one of these moments in my future.)

Oh no! (Gotta admit I'm not hugely shocked though! ;) But damn that does suck for him. I'm sure I'm in for the same thing at some point in my/my child's future.)

I hope he heals very quickly.

Oh, I'm actually okay. It happened while he was at school, so most of the drama happened before I picked him up and took him for X-rays. By that time he was just a subdued sniffly little boy (and you know something's wrong when people use words like "subdued" to describe this one).

Oh, poor kiddo! Poor you, too. Hope you can all take some tylenol and go to bed. The day is officially fired.

Heh, yeah, I think I remember that. This is just a splint -- I think by the time he gets the cast on, he's going to think it's the coolest thing ever.

That's actually just the splint! He'll get a cast on later this week and they said it'll probably be cut much shorter than that. Not nearly as dramatic, alas.

Indeed, the thing that's really shocking is that we haven't had to do this before now.

Poor guy will be in a cast for probably a month, they said. Here's to quick healing!

Quinn? In a cast? Theoretically limited from running or jumping activities? Yes, life will get VERY INTERESTING INDEED around these parts very soon.

Oh, no! Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Eleanor (http://opadit.livejournal.com/608248.html)'s wasn't a buckle fracture, but I hope it heals quickly.

Also, casts these days are water-resistant and colorful. Eleanor chose (http://opadit.livejournal.com/610597.html) pink.

yes, spring for the water-resistant if they don't automatically offer it up!! the bone should heal fine, and that way the skin shouldn't get *too green* :)

OUCH....

You only hope they learn.
