It's good; not as good as Wachusett's version, but good.

But it's a bit out-of-season, eh? That's a summer barbecue beer.

I first read the label as blueberry wheat>/i>.

So you thought it was wild ale made with blueberry wheat?

A bit out of season, yes, but it was kind of stuffy in the Trident last night and I didn't mind a warm-weather drink. Also it followed up the curry we had at Island Hopper nicely.

I just wasn't expecting there to be actual berries in the brew when I poured it. I swear that my first thought when I saw one come out was that a cat's hairball had found its way into my drink.

It's kind of gimmicky, but the blueberries actually complement the beer really well.

I'm totally willing to be convinced otherwise, but I think I would run screaming from a beer that has fruit floating in it. I can imagine it was interesting following a curried dish, though.

Actually, the fruit was remarkably tasty -- like it had been just picked and dropped into the beer by mistake.

It was separated from the curried dish by a couple of hours and I still liked it.

I was a little freaked out myself. I knew it was made partly from blueberries, I just didn't expect actual blue balls in my beer.

And yet? It turned out to work really quite well. I was most impressed.

Bring one around to you for dinner some time?
