Ha! You are tougher than I am. I've seriously done one five-mile shakedown ride since I broke my foot in August of 2006, so I think that I would both probably die and also probably hurt myself, tempting though the idea is :)
Yes, I'm totally a fan of excuses to get outside and away from the computer. Shiny flat screens are compelling, so we need those excuses. And biking and being social sounds like fun in its own right!
I don't know about you guys, but our weather right now is perfect for that sort of thing. I've been making small trips to the grocery store up the bike path, simply because it means I get to go up the bike path while being nominally useful. =)
I know I do. Palmwiz is trying to convince me to volunteer so that there won't be a conflict with other stuff that day, but I want to ride so bad I'd be sad watching everyone take off.
Will you be coming back that night on the ferry or staying over? Convince me to share a room with you? Or a ferry ride back?
Almost certainly staying over! That way I can get in a little down time and sightseeing, *and* the Sunday brunch after. Last year omegabeth and I drove home, which was way fun, but I love the idea of doing the ferry thing.
I would totally do halfsies on a room! That is, assuming that I can't sweet-talk bubblebabble and bitty into sharing their lovely cabin in Truro again... :-)

As a geek, I just like thinking it's about getting people outside for at least an unbroken 12-hour stretch.

Have you done 130 miles in one day before this? I'm in awe; I'm very happy when I do 30.
