Go you!! Good luck!

(And I like that little snippet of address you can see there.)

I'm so envious! I meant to get around to training for this, but completely failed to. Next year. No, really!

I have not trained either! I have only spent five days on my bike in the last nine months! Ride with me!

Ha! You are tougher than I am. I've seriously done one five-mile shakedown ride since I broke my foot in August of 2006, so I think that I would both probably die and also probably hurt myself, tempting though the idea is :)

Outriders?

("When riding is outlawed, only outlaws..."?)

It's one of those LBGT things. "Out" riders! Out riders! Out--- get it?

As a geek, I just like thinking it's about getting people outside for at least an unbroken 12-hour stretch.

[identity profile] khedron.livejournal.com 2009-05-05 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohhhh! I get it!

Yes, I'm totally a fan of excuses to get outside and away from the computer. Shiny flat screens are compelling, so we need those excuses. And biking and being social sounds like fun in its own right!

I don't know about you guys, but our weather right now is perfect for that sort of thing. I've been making small trips to the grocery store up the bike path, simply because it means I get to go up the bike path while being nominally useful. =)

Wow, Iron Man!

Have you done 130 miles in one day before this? I'm in awe; I'm very happy when I do 30.

I did this ride two years ago. It was the only time I've ever done a century. It was very hard indeed but OH MY GOD so much fun.

Oooh... very tempting... there are conflicts for that weekend, so I'm not sure, but maaaaayyybeee....

And don't I know that woman (http://www.outriders.org/about/schedule.html)? ;-)

It is much fun. You want to come. You do. You want to come.

And don't I know that woman? ;-)

She sure do look familiar!

The guy standing next to her also reminds me of someone. That's awesome. :)

Also: GO TIM!!!!

I know I do. Palmwiz is trying to convince me to volunteer so that there won't be a conflict with other stuff that day, but I want to ride so bad I'd be sad watching everyone take off.

Will you be coming back that night on the ferry or staying over? Convince me to share a room with you? Or a ferry ride back?

Almost certainly staying over! That way I can get in a little down time and sightseeing, *and* the Sunday brunch after. Last year [livejournal.com profile] omegabeth and I drove home, which was way fun, but I love the idea of doing the ferry thing.

I would totally do halfsies on a room! That is, assuming that I can't sweet-talk [livejournal.com profile] bubblebabble and [livejournal.com profile] bitty into sharing their lovely cabin in Truro again... :-)
