Aw, now I can't like you anymore. Yes, I am so old enough to have used, and learned to hate with the passion of One Hundred Thousand Burning Suns, the evil abomination which was TECO, thanksawfully.
Canon, but I had to look at the camera and check. I got it for the primary features of 'cheap but not too cheap' and 'uses SD media which my new MacBookPro has a slot for'.
/me is not a photo geek, though I do appreciate the results of a well pointed good light bucket.
Me? Canon, but not religiously; mostly just because I know several pro/semi-pro photographers who shoot Canon, so I wanted the ability to borrow their lenses. :)
You? Canon or Nikon; really whichever feels better in your hand and offers the best local opportunities for lens-borrowing. At the consumer/prosumer level, there's really not any hands-down advantage to one over the other that you're ever going to notice. They both make awesome gear.
...of course, the ยต4/3rds cameras (like the olympus E-Pen) are really sexy. Not sure if I'm willing to give up an actual viewfinder though.
Nikon, but a large part of that was that I already had a nice lens for my Nikon film SLR, so I could save a few bucks by getting a Nikon DSLR body that worked with it.
I used to be an emacs person until vim came out and made vi tolerable. Now, sad to say, I prefer it.
(I even got the t-shirt that was the reverse of this one (http://www.freesoftwaremagazine.com/files/www.freesoftwaremagazine.com/nodes/2949/58458077_02de6d4790_o.jpg).)

(In the terms of your poll I hover somewhere between agnostic and atheist. Except, dude, emacs.)

And that is why you are on the side of the angels!

You think you know a person, and then they say something like this.

And, of course, emacs.

What I use now: Sony, for both still and video
What I used to use, and may still have lying around somewhere: Kodak, Bell & Howell, Minolta, various others
What I used to use, and wish I still had (except for the impending lack of film): Polaroid
