Roger Ebert takes on Avatar: The Last Airbender. [livejournal.com profile] browngirl and others will perhaps be pleased:
"The Last Airbender" is an agonizing experience in every category I can think of and others still waiting to be invented. The laws of chance suggest that something should have gone right. Not here. It puts a nail in the coffin of low-rent 3D, but it will need a lot more coffins than that.

I didn't pay much attention to the TV show when Morgan was a fan, I'm sorry to say, but the comments I've seen about the movie have told me a lot about what I missed and what went wrong here: http://ssj10.livejournal.com/131146.html and http://www.humblecomics.com/blog/images/Airbender-Comic2.gif

the guys say too serious, they missed the point that ang is basically a kid who is often silly and then has to balance his responsibility. They went the teen angst responsibility route not the fun kid.
