Yay! I so love my D7000! I haven't regretted that purchase for even a picosecond.

Oooooooh, shiny.

So, for your old camera? A former coworker of mine has a suggestion (http://thephotographysite.org/how-to-get-started-in-aerial-photography/#more-400).

Nice! I'm deeply fond of my D90.

Excellent idea! My D50 already has a home (http://keyne.livejournal.com/) but that looks like a tempting project to use with a point-and-shoot :-)

I'm already loving it, but am a little intimidated by the size of the manual and all the new controls. Trying not to let it spook me too much and just taking pictures for now.

The only thing that pissed me off about it was the lack of a simple remote.

Uh oh. This would be a turn off for me. *going to do research*

I don't have any first-hand experience with this, but Ken Rockwell (http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d7000/specifications.htm) says the Nikon ML-L3 (http://www.adorama.com/NKMLL3.html?utm_term=Other&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=Other&utm_source=rflAID021866) remote works with the D7000?

didn't work for me, but if He says so then it must have been me doing something wrong ...

OMG. U1 and U2 controls! *squeee!* Dammit. I now want this camera!

His page doesn't exactly say that he's *used* that remote with this camera, so I'd want independent confirmation, personally :-)

Amazon does explicitly list this remote as working with the D7000, and at least one of the reviewers specifically says that he uses it with his D7K. I'd definitely be curious to learn if there's a known problem with it!
