League Cycling Instructor certification

$200?! Ouch. Is the idea that you then charge fees to students, as I do? Or work through some other organization, and get paid fees to offer courses? Or volunteer to offer free courses to kids? Or...?

For Common Impact, are you trying to get Akamai to join?

There are meal kitchens a lot closer to home than Boston — you might want to consider looking in Lowell, f'rinstance?

It would make me eligible to teach effective cycling through LAB or through MassBike, who charge fees for courses and presumably pay the instructors. (Though I haven't investigated exactly how I'd go about this or whether any local org needs additional cycling instructors.)

What's really going on in my head is that the state is talking about figuring out ways to promote alternative transportation, and it seems to me that offering safe roadway cycling classes FOR FREE would be a great start, and the area is probably going to need more instructors.

It's not exactly well-thought-out. That's why it's a goal and not part of a plan. :-)
