Lunch today with numignost. It was a lovely afternoon and fascinating to get to know each other a bit as grownups.

One of my favorite moments: we were discussing someone he knows in Minnesota and trying to determine whether I knew them too. I replied that the only other people who I can think of offhand who live in Minnesota are jss1113 and unzeugmatic (using their real names). At this moment he turned slowly to me and said, "Wait.... unzeugmatic? He's a Morris dancer, right?"

And of course I was completely unsurprised to find that he had met unzeugmatic.

Um, um -- I'm not sure from the picture who this is. He's got members of Uptown-on-Calhoun on his friends list, so I know I would know him. But there's also the possibility that it's an Amherst connections through guitarist MB, if it's who I think it is.

I'm mortified and even horrified that I don't immediately know who this is. When I find out, I will probably be suicidal with shame.

But yeah, everybody knows who I am, at least by sight. It's because I have hair to my knees.

I did enjoy meeting you and I certainly remember the conversation. I just didn't connect for a minute.

I grew more certain of this just seconds after posting the above comment. I certainly remember our conversation, and I enjoyed meeting you, but for some reason it just took a bit for me to connect things from the photograph.

It was a treat to see you. Maybe we can find a way to lure you to Minnesota for a visit sometime. Though I won't hold my breath until your boys are in college...
