the rise of the machines

The vending machines in our cafeteria have begun plotting. One of them, when it thinks no one is looking, has begun emitting a subtle code in its LED display:

BUAL
SELS
DOOR

repeated endlessly. If you alert it to your presence by pushing on the vending machine door, it clams up and returns to displaying ".25", but once you let go, it returns to communicating its diabolical plans to the other vending machines.

I think I may stop taking the elevator for a while.

The elevator attempts to eat the cleaning lady at least twice a week. She must enjoy it. She keeps coming back.
