name that astronomical observatory!
Mar. 10th, 2008 10:42 pmNASA is holding a contest to name the Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope, their newest astronomical observatory.
I helped out and suggested the obvious choice, of course, Mister Splashy Pants. I trust that you all will do your part as well.
Go to http://glast.sonoma.edu:81/glastname/. Vote early and often; it is, after all, for Science.

Date: 2008-03-11 05:31 am (UTC)Finally, the name must be original and not associated with any past, present or future astronomical observatory or space mission (domestic or international) or any NASA program. Sorry, Voyager fans!
At first, I really thought they meant "Star Trek: Voyager"! And I thought, hmm, there were fans? (I know, it ran for like 6 years, I'm sure people liked it.)
I'll definitely have to come up with a good name. (A _good_ name, Mr. Qwrrty!)
