name that astronomical observatory!

NASA is holding a contest to name the Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope, their newest astronomical observatory.

I helped out and suggested the obvious choice, of course, Mister Splashy Pants.  I trust that you all will do your part as well.

At first, I really thought they meant "Star Trek: Voyager"! And I thought, hmm, there were fans? (I know, it ran for like 6 years, I'm sure people liked it.)

I'll definitely have to come up with a good name. (A _good_ name, Mr. Qwrrty!)

OMG, I did too. Granted, I just read it in your comment and didn't have any time to think and realize that it wasn't a Star Trek joke, but well, that was my first thought. *hangs head*

Given the shape and appearance of the 'observatory', I thought Mini-Borg-Cube would be a good name, but they will name it after a person. Marie Curie Gamma Ray Observatory sounds nice...

But, since it is suppose to be measuring details about explosions, the name I have already submitted to NASA is "Alfred Nobel Gamma Ray Yacht" or ANGRY for short.
