This is how Friendly's strikes fear in the hearts of chain fast food restaurants everywhere.... the burger on a stick.

Lawd, I haven't been in a Friendly's in FOREVER. Do they still have happy ending sundaes? and butter crunch ice cream? (one of my all-time favourites for pretty much my whole life)

Er, "happy ending sundaes"? Are they allowed to do that in a restaurant?

Oh ye coastally challenged, this (http://friendlysicecream.com/menu/dessert/dessert.aspx#sundaes) is what she was referring to.

Not that you (http://adweek.blogs.com/adfreak/2005/07/is_friendlys_be.html) are (http://taoofdan.com/2005/11/01/friendly%E2%80%99s%C2%AE-happy-ending-sundae/) the (http://www.collegehumor.com/picture:11032) only (http://h2otown.info/node/3483#comment-375198) person to have noticed this unfortunate connotation.

"Burger on a stick" makes me think of a burger, impaled on a chopstick or two, breaded and then deep fried (cf. Hot Dog on a Stick, which itself makes me think of this).

But I'm weird.

I recently went online to find out if really there is no damn Friendly's within miles and miles of here, and found that yes, there really is no Friendly's within miles and miles. I mean, it's not like it's more than a half hour to one, but I have needs. Specifically needs regarding goblets of ice cream garnished with transfatty peanut butter sauce and Reese's pieces.

So that's why Mayor McCheese no longer appears in McDonald's commercials.

Do they have Grimace hung in irons somewhere on the premises?

Grimace melted away. It's the Hamburglar who's hanging in irons.
