When I go on those rides, if possible, I show up wearing swim trunks.

Was it as unpleasant of an experience as the picture makes it look?

Nah. It was fun -- and I say this as the one person in the raft who was wearing long sleeves and denim jeans, also soaked through :)

It wasn't an unpleasant experience at all. Walking around was definitely unpleasant for the next several hours, however.
