Ah, I have strong memories of this scene, as well. I used to live in Brooklyn Heights, so I used to walk this on nice days to my work at 5th & 16th in Manhattan.
Long time ago. Sweet memories, though. I love NYC.
Oh, and there are also memories of post-9/11 when I was volunteering (9/16-9/22): the Brooklyn Bridge was closed to "civilian traffic." We would gather at the Red Cross center on the Brooklyn side and get into shuttles to go across the bridge to Ground Zero to work. Memories not so sweet, with a deeply offensive olfactory element.
