The Kendall platform is usually deserted at 6pm Friday. Of course, at
6pm Friday a train should have arrived in the last half hour.

Yeah, the Red Line has experienced much hosage this week. *sigh*

Not as many hot twentysomethings in the Mosaic carpool, though.

Tru dat. I'll find a way to live with it somehow.

I like the smiling young lady, especially considering the circumstances.

Yeah, I have to say this about the T: for whatever reason, people are not generally grumpy or irritable when the trains are running late. It's a silver lining.

I like that both you and [livejournal.com profile] pulito were drawn to that detail. I must have gotten lucky with that shot. :-)

On the plus side, I no longer feel as bad about those days when the bus to Sullivan gets to me in the morning before the bus to Davis, since I can now get stranded on either platform equally.

Yikes! I gotta say, though, that I like this picture because my eye was immediately drawn to the smiling girl. In the face of a late train, it was nice to see. :)

Yeah, I was trying to transfer from the Orange Line to the Red Line outbound at Downtown Crossing (to meet my family at the Children's Museum) not long before that. The Red Line platform was backed up into the corridor, and I decided walking from DTX was a better option.

On one morning recently the Red Line was delayed on the way in from Alewife, and they announced at Harvard that it would be an express train to Charles-M.G.H. A lot of people got off to wait for a local. I decided to stay on the train, get off at Charles and walk back across the bridge.

It was not actually faster than waiting for the local would have been -- as I crossed in to Kendall, a local inbound train came out of the tunnel toward me -- but it was a close thing.

On the plus side, I got a very nice walk across the Longfellow, which is most picturesque in the morning.
