Madescent is absolutely
the cheatingest
(http://www.tiscali.co.uk/reference/dictionaries/difficultwords/data/d0007839.html) word on that list.

Is there a prize for best real-life use of SAT vocabulary words? This would be a winner.

Jeez, I only recognized one of those words, and I got it wrong. Heck, I don't even know what is meant by "damper"!
I'm sure there's a joke here. Can you enlighten me?

It's a pouch for storing matches. The "damper" in this case is a chimney damper. All of the words on it can be used to describe a damper (particularly a closed damper) -- in some sense or another.
