Mark Morford makes me cringe. How can anyone take this sort of crackpot loose-cannon liberalism seriously? Even if you agree with what he says (and assuming you can even make out his meaning through the froth and blather)? Reading Morford makes me wonder whether I really am a moderate after all.

Probably not. As it turns out, political rants just need the careful hand of a deft writer. (Imagine that.) Morford does not fit that description, but, thankfully, Garrison Keillor is available to step up to the plate.

Yes, Garrison Keillor is still a fantastic writer. I had been a Morford fan for a while, but the past year my interest has waned as his topics of discussion have been reduced to what it is now.

Not all the "Lamborghini libertarians" are Republicans, thank God. :-)

I used to read Morford regularly, until I realized he only had one column, which he recycled every week with the paragraphs in a different order. I don't think I saw a single one that did not contain the word "lickable" and a gratuitous insinuation about Lynne Cheney's sex life.
