I'm jealous! With the two Jonathan Coulton concerts I've been to, he vanished immediately after the encore and I couldn't take a picture of him and my younger son together. Though my older son met him at a Portland book festival.
We just overheard the folks at the merch table saying that he "might" come out after cleaning up, so we hung out long enough for Ian to tell everyone that they could come back into the theater for a quick meet-and-greet. Really it was just a matter of being willing to stand around long enough to get invited. :-)
