geek: gettext

Trying to retrofit gettext support onto Cabber, a package which doesn't use it, or autoconf, or automake.

*WOW* does gettext suck stinky monkey balls. It could just be the manual, but the whole system seems designed for maximum pain. I did find a tutorial for adding gettext support to an existing system. It helps a little bit but I'm still not getting there.

Probably time to step away from the keyboard. (It's a friggin' Sunday!)

Heh. Yeah, a number of the now-core GNU dev suites have seemed to me to be really wacky to use. I'm also banging my head on the keyboard today -- using systrace to lock down a web CGI app that, um, changes uid a lot. Yech. But I'm sick, so have an excuse for keyboarding on a Sunday.
