Boo-YEAH!

(Choosing the other option myself today. I decided I simply do not have the appropriate gear. Totally stoked that you do, though!)

Almost. I arrived at work at the same time as one of my other crazy-insane cyclist coworkers, and we discovered that we had come to the same conclusion at the same time, namely:

It's time to layer up to a second pair of gloves.

East Arlington. Just far enough to figure out where the chinks in my armor are. :-)

Half an hour. For the most part totally acceptable. It's so much nicer when it's dry. (I am seriously not biking Tuesday-Thursday this week.)

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

Honey, I am so glad I was biking and not walking. This way I'm generating more heat and spending less time standing around waiting to cross somewhere. You're taking on the greater challenge as far as I'm concerned.

Wimp. Benjamin and I went skiing in NH yesterday. It was -12 at the top and windy. (Benjamin did not go to the top.)

(seriously, I'm impressed. I thought about it, but I think I need a pair of clear-lensed ski goggles and less ice on the roads.)

Hooray for you! I'd make a remark about my long, cold commute to the couch, but I brought the kid to school, so I did have one this morning.

You are so crazy. I like you.

(Also, i'm thinking that if that were me? I'd need about 3x as much layering as that. At least.)

How many fingers do you have left?

All of them, but it was a little touch-and-go with my right thumb for a while there. I do plan on picking up a cheap pair of knit gloves to layer under my mittens before the ride home.

For this kind of ride, heated gloves (or at least inserts) don't seem like an extravagance to me...

Extra heat is very nice, and its the only way I keep my fingers from getting very numb once it's in the teens.

Basically the same uniform as on this ride. (http://qwrrty.livejournal.com/345137.html) The places where I felt the cold worst were my fingers and the back of my neck - I must not have tucked in the balaclava well enough.
