Calling all my friends in New Jersey!  If indeed any of you are there besides [livejournal.com profile] yesthattom!

RNK is trying to identify a problem with our calling card access numbers in New Jersey and we need Jerseyites to help.  Can you call these numbers, preferably from a cell phone if possible?

973-854-0045
973-859-1028

Email twp@rnktel.com and let me know:
  • the time and date of the call
  • which of these numbers you called
  • the number you called from
  • what you heard when you called: a recorded greeting, static, dead air, garbled voice, etc.
Thanks if you can help!  If you can provide the smoking gun we're looking for I'll see if I can comp you a few calling cards :-)

What? How did you change your LJ name? I didn't think one could do that!

(REAL frickin' funny, by the way.)

I don't think that you were able some time ago, but that has changed since. http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=25

I followed a link from Tom's journal, and he described the need as "phones physically located in New Jersey." We're in Florida, but my husband's cell phone is actually in the 908 area code. Let me know if this is useful at all to you, and one of us will call the numbers later today.

First #: First it asks *very quickly* for 1-spanish 2-english 3-portuguese. I hit "2" and it asks for a card number.
Second #: Same thing..

(Got this from Tal's LJ..)

Just called now (11:41:58 US/Eastern) to both numbers, both played a short burst of music then a pre-recorded message.

Calling the first number asked for Spanish, English and Portugese. The second number only asked for Spanish and English and when playing the "English" portion of the voice prompt, it started getting garbled, and didn't ask for Portugese. I pressed "2" for English both times and both calls it followed to the next prompt asking me for a card number.

If this helps and you need to know my number, email me at dossy@panoptic.com (mailto:dossy@panoptic.com) and I'll tell you.
