My first year at U of C I lived down the hall from a girl whose name was misspelled twice (misspelling in first name, missing letter in last name)--I don't remember the details, but I think it had to do with her Korean-born parents' English being fairly abysmal when she was born. I imagine she had it fixed eventually.
