courage and justice

A vigil was held for George Tiller in Boston tonight. One of the speakers, who I think was Andrea Miller (executive director of NARAL Massachusetts), told this story:
Tiller kept a basket of glass beads and would invite his visitors to choose one. Half of the beads said "Courage." The other half said "Justice." Confronted with this choice, Miller froze. She told him she couldn't possibly decide between them.
"Well then," he told her, "you'd better just take both. You're going to need them."
