It is possible to have weighed all of the issues, to have thought Bush the lesser of the available evils, and to still support same-sex marriage and all manner of "alternative" paths and choices. You don't assume that people only come in two flavors when it comes to relationships; don't assume that they do when it comes to politics.

Even with all that being true (though frankly, it is difficult for me to figure out on what grounds Bush could possibly be the lesser of two evils), I still can't help but take it personally. You have the right to your vote, but still, no soup from this corner.

someone who has helped to bring four more years of the kind of limitation of civil and personal rights, fearmongering, and outright corporate cronyism that the current administration provides is not welcome in my house. you can cut off your rights if you want to, but i resent your hand in limiting mine.

i don't really feel any safer, either. great.
