thanks to [livejournal.com profile] renniekins for starting this idea, and [livejournal.com profile] moominmolly for reminding me.

Do you have a secret? Something you've been wanting to get off your chest but have nobody to tell? Or something you couldn't imagine saying to anyone to their face?

It's time. Anonymous posting is on. IP logging is off. You have to post anonymously. (I will delete non-anonymous comments!) And you are not allowed to tell me what you posted -- that's part of what makes it fun!

Let's hear it, folks. And make it a good one!

You absolutely should do it - it is lots of fun. Once you start, you'll wonder why you waited so long.

Are there any in the Greater Boston Area? Are these single- or multiple-gender locations?

The ones I know are single-gender (male), and the nearest one to Boston is in Providence. These are the sorts of places I look up when I travel; I know one such place in most major cities I visit. Boston is odd for not having one.

Scary and exciting! Do they use protection as a rule? Or do they not?

The one (gay) bathhouse I've ever been to did provide condoms and lube, and a no-barebacking policy, but didn't have any hallway monitors (or whatever) to enforce use/compliance. But I'd bow to the greater experience of the above correspondent.

This has (sadly) changed over the past 10 years. In the early 90's, AIDS was still considered a death sentence, and safe(r) sex was taken very seriously by clubs and clubgoers alike. Every club had complementary condoms and lube, and everyone used them.

Nowadays, the clubs still provide lube (and sometimes condoms, but you are well-advised to bring your own), but it is quite common for your partner to start without them, and only put one one if you insist.

I find this trend annoying.
