This is such a bummer! I love my clear glass teapot for lots of reasons, not the least is the way it catches the light of the tea-candle underneath it, making a warm, amber-colored glow. I suppose you could have said, "but I like my clear teapot!". I wonder what Miss Manners would say about this - the whole situation is complicated by the fact that this is a housemate of yours, so you can't just pretend to like it, and then do what you like in the privacy of your own home.
